Mealworm Stir-Fry

Ready to stir up some excitement in the kitchen? Our Mealworm Stir-Fry recipe is a flavorful and nutritious way to incorporate edible insects into your meals. With tender mealworms and crisp vegetables tossed in a savory sauce, this stir-fry is guaranteed to satisfy your hunger and impress your guests. Let’s wok and roll!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked mealworms
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to make the stir-fry sauce. Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced bell pepper and broccoli florets, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  3. Add minced garlic and cooked mealworms to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Pour the stir-fry sauce over the ingredients in the skillet. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
  5. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly and everything is heated through.
  6. Serve the mealworm stir-fry hot over cooked rice. Enjoy your flavorful and nutritious meal!
